Yacine Brahimi hands in Rennes transfer request

Newcastle United have been put on red alert following the news that Yacine Brahimi has handed in a transfer request at Rennes.

Alan Pardew has reportedly targeted the 22-year-old winger as he looks to boost his attacking options ahead of next season.

Brahimi is believed to have told Les Rouges et Noir that he is ready for a new challenge, with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach also said to be monitoring the situation.

The France Under-21s international turned professional at the Route de Lorient in 2009.
