Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman loaned to Hartlepool United

Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has joined Hartlepool United on a one-month loan deal.

The 17-year-old has gone straight into the Pools squad for their trip to Northampton Town in League Two tonight.

Woodman, who is the son of Newcastle goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman, has represented England at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level.

Hartlepool are currently in 20th place in the table after taking seven points from their opening seven matches of the season.
