Sunderland youngsters Joel Asoro and Josh Maja are transfer targets for rivals Newcastle United, according to a report.

League One-bound Sunderland are reportedly at risk of losing teenage strikers Joel Asoro and Josh Maja to arch-rivals Newcastle United.

The Black Cats, who could be relegated next week, are said to be keen to tie the young duo down to new long-term contracts.

According to the Daily Mail, however, Newcastle will look to tempt Asoro and Maja into crossing the divide with the offer of Premier League football.

Sweden Under-21s international Asoro made his top-flight debut for Sunderland in 2016, while London-born Maja burst onto the scene with a debut winner against former side Fulham in December.

Two more Prem clubs in Arsenal and Watford are also rumoured to have shown an interest.
