Joshua King hints at Bournemouth exit amid Newcastle United links

Bournemouth striker Josh King hints that he is unsettled at the club due to Eddie Howe's decision to shift him to a deeper position.

Bournemouth striker Joshua King has hinted that he could part ways with the club this summer.

The Norway international, who has been linked with a move to Newcastle United, has made it clear that he is unhappy with manager Eddie Howe's decision to shift him to a deeper position last season.

"I do not like to blame anything, but I have to say that I was surprised that I returned in pre-season and was switched to a deeper position than [that in which] I did so well in the year before," King told VG.

"I started one match as the spearhead [up front] this year. I am 110% unhappy with the change in position. I am not satisfied and my coach knows. I think most people know where I am the best.

"I have three years left on my contract and I am a Bournemouth player now, but in football you never know.

"I just want to play in the position I am best at. Why change something that worked so well? I do not understand and maybe it has been a bit in my mind all season."

The Cherries are said to value King at around the £20m mark.
