Brentford attacker Yoane Wissa has allegedly threatened to never play for the Bees again if he is denied a move to Newcastle United this summer.
The Magpies are believed to have failed with an opening offer of £25m for the former Lorient man, but they have retained an interest amid Alexander Isak's wish to leave the club.
Brentford boss Keith Andrews has said that he expects Wissa to report for pre-season training this week, but Thomas Frank's successor may never pick the DR Congo international for a competitive game.
According to BBC Sport, Wissa has told Brentford director of football Phil Giles that he will refuse to pull on the shirt again, having been left 'so infuriated' by the Bees' transfer decisions.
Wissa supposedly believes that the West London club have reneged on a previous agreement, whereby they would let him make the move to another team if a suitable offer was presented.
Giles and Newcastle sporting director Andy Howe remain in dialogue over a deal for the attacker, but the two sides are yet to shake hands on a fee.
Wolverhampton Wanderers hold 'initial talks' over defender signing
Elsewhere in the Premier League, Wolverhampton Wanderers have apparently held initial talks over a deal for former West Ham United right-back Vladimir Coufal.
The Old Gold are currently adjusting to life without Nelson Semedo, who left Molineux upon the expiration of his contract a few weeks ago.
Wolves boss Vitor Pereira still has Matt Doherty, Pedro Lima and Ki-Jana Hoever available to him at right wing-back, but according to Ben Jacobs, the club are now exploring a move for Coufal.
The 32-year-old has supposedly emerged as a 'potential option' to plug the Semedo void, but Wolves' interest has not progressed further than initial talks at present.
Coufal excelled during a five-season stint at West Ham from 2020 to 2025, setting up 20 goals in 180 appearances for the Irons and winning the 2022-23 Conference League.
Ex-Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur defender joins Flamengo
Sticking with the right-back theme, former Tottenham Hotspur and Barcelona defender Emerson Royal has signed for Brazilian giants Flamengo.
The 26-year-old spent three years in North London from 2021 to 2024, joining the Lilywhites after Arsenal won the race to sign Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Emerson struggled to settle in the Premier League, ultimately joining AC Milan on a permanent deal last summer, and he quickly became a regular starter for the Rossoneri.
However, the Brazilian then missed most of the second half of the season with a calf injury, and he has now returned to his homeland with Flamengo on a permanent deal.
Milan will reportedly receive around €9m (£7.8m) for the sale of Emerson, who has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract with Flamengo until December 2028.
The right-back will be working under former Chelsea man Filipe Luis, while Jorginho, Saul Niguez and ex-Manchester City defender Danilo are also on the books at Flamengo.
RB Leipzig 'agree striker deal' amid Benjamin Sesko uncertainty
Finally, Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig are said to have reached a verbal agreement with a 23-year-old striker amid uncertainty surrounding Benjamin Sesko's future.
Sesko was expected to make the move to Arsenal earlier this summer, but the Gunners swerved for Viktor Gyokeres, allegedly due to Leipzig's extortionate demands.
However, the Slovenia international is now firmly on the radar of Newcastle United as a possible Isak replacement, while Timo Werner and Andre Silva could both leave the Red Bull Arena too.
In preparation for three possible exits, Florian Plettenberg reports that Leipzig have agreed a deal with Goztepe striker Romulo, but the two clubs remain apart on their valuation.
The Turkish giants supposedly want between €25m (£21.8m) and €30m (£26.1m) to sanction the Brazilian's exit, whereas Leipzig do not intend to go any higher than €20m (£17.4m).
Fulham are also said to have taken a liking to Romulo, who scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists in 33 appearances across all competitions last season.
