Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet joins Saint-Etienne on loan

Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet has completed a season-long loan switch to Saint-Etienne.

The 25-year-old failed to break into the first team following his January move from Bordeaux as he made just four appearances in total.

Saivet does not figure in manager Rafael Benitez's plans as the Magpies try to climb back into the Premier League after suffering relegation last season.

The midfielder started just two of the four games that he played in the second half of the 2015-16 campaign.
