Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka wants "good news" with Newcastle United

Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has said that he is hoping for "good news" regarding a possible transfer to Newcastle United.

In January, Sparta Prague allowed Dubravka to spend the second half of the campaign on loan at St James' Park and the Slovakian has impressed in his 11 outings for the Magpies.

Dubravka kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon and after the game, the stopper revealed that talks will take place this week.

The 29-year-old told Chronicle Live: "Hopefully in the next couple of days we will know more information. Now I have to go away and be ready for the national team.

"Until these moments I will go away and speak with my agent and see, we will discuss what's going to happen. Hopefully it will be good news soon."

Reports have previously indicated that Newcastle may have to pay somewhere in the region of £4m to £6m to push through a permanent deal.
