Douglas wants Premier League move

FC Twente midfielder Douglas has reportedly told the Dutch club's boss Steve McClaren that he wants to move to the Premier League at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has attracted the interest of Newcastle United in recent weeks, while Schalke 04 have also been credited with an interest.

A source at Twente told The Chronicle: "It's not a case of if Douglas wants to play in the Premier League – it's simply when. He's told the manager he wants to go."

Douglas joined Twente from Joinville in 2007.
