Birmingham to offer Ranger lifeline

Birmingham City are ready to offer Newcastle United striker Nile Ranger a footballing lifeline.

The 20-year-old is likely to move to the Midlands club on a loan deal, according to The Mirror.

Ranger was arrested at the end of October for being drunk and disorderly in Newcastle City centre. He will face magistrates on Thursday, November 17.

The forward will be in court on a further two occasions this month for alleged assault and drink-driving offences.
