Team News: Wayne Rooney returns for Manchester United

Wayne Rooney has been restored to the Manchester United starting lineup for tonight's trip to Newcastle United.

The 26-year-old will be part of an attack-minded team, which includes Dimitar Berbatov, Ryan Giggs and Nani.

Elsewhere, David de Gea has been dropped following his mistake against Blackburn Rovers on New Year's Eve, with his place being given to Anders Lindegaard.

For hosts Newcastle, Shola Ameobi has been handed the chance to partner Demba Ba up front, while Gabriel Obertan failed to shake off a toe injury in time to face his former club.
