Pardew: 'I could be sacked at Newcastle'

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has admitted that his job is far from safe after a poor season in the Premier League.

Having guided the Magpies to an impressive fifth-placed finish last year, the Toon Army are currently in a scrap to avoid relegation with two games left to play.

Pardew, who signed an eight-year deal at St James' Park in 2012, is expecting to have crisis talks with owner Mike Ashley at the end of the campaign.

"He can tell me where he's coming from and we can clear the air about how we want to take it forward," Pardew told ESPN.

"He could turn around and say, 'sorry Pards, see you later and thanks very much. He could do that if we don't make it, he could do that if we make it. Unfortunately for me I have to accept that decision."

Newcastle travel to Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
