Paul Dummett: 'Everyone is prepared to fight for Premier League status'

Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett is adamant that every one of the club's players is ready to battle until the final minute to keep their team in the Premier League.

Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett has insisted that he and his teammates have to be prepared to fight for every minute of their match against West Ham United to remain in the Premier League.

The Magpies enter their final-day clash against the Hammers knowing that a victory will guarantee them a place in the top flight for the next campaign, but a defeat or draw along with a win for Hull City will relegate them to the Championship.

Dummett is adamant that every player at the club is aware of the enormity of the task at hand and is determined to battle to ensure that the Magpies remain in the Premier League.

He told the club's official website: "I think they do, especially after the meeting we had. Everyone knows that this is one of the biggest games in the club's history for many years, and one we need to win.

"We had a good talk, and said that this weekend was going to be the biggest game for many years.

"That was mentioned to every player in there and [Carver] did say that if anyone's not willing to work hard or be up for the fight on Sunday, then leave the room now. No-one left the room and we need to show the fight and spirit we have got on Sunday to get that win."

John Carver's men are 17th in the Premier League, two points clear of Hull City.
