Alan Pardew hails squad depth

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew praises his squad's depth after a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has praised the depth of his squad after they picked up their fourth win in a row on Saturday.

The Magpies moved up to fifth in the Premier League table after beating West Brom 2-1.

Pardew has expressed his delight at the players available to him, describing them as "quality".

"The group is very, very strong. There's a real good feeling in there," Pardew told reporters. "Everybody is fit and available, so your Yohan Cabayes and Colos (Fabricio Coloccini) can look around and see quality - quality not even involved today.

"We've got a strength in depth that we didn't have when we finished fifth two years ago.

"I'm just really proud of the players. I think they should be very proud of themselves in terms of their work ethic."

Newcastle next face Swansea City on Wednesday night.
