Papiss Cisse misses Newcastle tour with illness

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that Papiss Cisse will not play a part in their pre-season tour of Germany and Austria due to illness.

Cisse has been unable to take part in full training since returning from his holiday due to a persistent illness.

Pardew told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle: "Cisse, bless his heart, is ill.

"He hasn't done any training. I can't see him playing the last game."

Cisse missed Monday's win over Monaco and will almost certainly sit out their final tour match against Fenerbahce in Ritzing.
