Yohan Cabaye urges his Newcastle United teammates to learn from their mistakes last season.

Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has urged his teammates to learn from the mistakes they made last season.

The Magpies battled against relegation for much of the Premier League campaign before eventually securing their safety.

"We have to learn about our mistakes but the main thing was safety and the club staying in the Premier League," Cabaye told Newcastle's official website.

"So it was a hard and difficult season but I think for the future it's going to be interesting because we learnt a lot."

Newcastle start the new league campaign at Manchester City on August 17.
