Newcastle United striker Sammy Ameobi has admitted that he has benefited greatly from his loan spell at Middlesbrough.
The 20-year-old has made three starts for Boro since his switch from their North-East rivals, scoring one goal in the process.
Reflecting on his stint so far at the Riverside, Ameobi has conceded that he has been made to "feel part of a team" - something that he has never previously experienced.
"I needed to be playing in matches, and it's been great to have the involvement I've had," Ameobi is quoted as saying by the Northern Echo. "But it's probably been just as important to feel like an integral part of something.
"That's not really something I've had in my career so far and I've enjoyed it. I love Newcastle, but being a young lad coming through the ranks means you're inevitably on the fringe of things a bit.
"It doesn't feel like that at Middlesbrough - I feel like part of a team where they see me as a big part of things. It's good to have that feeling hanging over your head."
Ameobi has signed on with Boro until the end of the season.
