Sammy Ameobi reveals that his loan spell at Middlesbrough could help him make an impact with Newcastle United next season.

Sammy Ameobi has revealed that his loan spell at Middlesbrough could help him break back into the Newcastle United first team next season.

The 20-year-old striker signed a short-term deal at the Riverside Stadium last month that is due to expire at the end of the current campaign.

"I've already taken a lot from the games I've played, and I'm stronger physically," Ameobi told the Evening Chronicle.

"Hopefully, I can bring that back to Newcastle. Middlesbrough are trying to get in the playoffs, and I'm trying my best to help the club do that.

"I'm feeling part of the team. Hopefully, I'll continue getting games and impress the manager. Games are what I need for my confidence and development as a player."

Ameobi has scored one goal in three appearances for Boro following his move.
