Remy Cabella doubtful for Manchester City clash

Newcastle United manager John Carver reveals that Remy Cabella is unlikely to feature against Manchester City this weekend due to a knee injury.

Newcastle United midfielder Remy Cabella is expected to miss this weekend's Premier League encounter against Manchester City due to injury.

The 24-year-old strained the medial ligaments in his knee during training this week, and John Carver is unlikely to take a risk on his fitness.

It a big blow for the Toon boss ahead of the trip to the Etihad Stadium, with Paul Dummett also being struck down by a long-term injury this week.

"Cabella hurt his knee on Monday," he is quoted as saying by the Shields Gazette. "He has a medial ligament strain. It's not a serious issue, but it will almost certainly keep him out at the weekend. If he's not 100%, I would rather he missed one game than be out for 10 weeks, like Dummett."

Meanwhile, it was revealed by Carver that winger Rolando Aarons is likely to return to training later this month following three months on the sidelines.
