Papiss Cisse out with a virus

Newcastle United will be without Papiss Cisse for tomorrow's Europa League encounter against Anzhi Makhachkala.

The Senegalese international has been struck down by a virus, which has prevented him from travelling to Russia with his teammates.

Manager Alan Pardew will also be without Argentine midfielder Jonas Gutierrez, who has picked up a knee problem.

It is believed that Pardew is keen to avoid Gutierrez making the complaint any worse by playing on the Luzhniki Stadium's artificial pitch.
