Alan Pardew rules out Champions League qualification

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew believes that the final Champions League spot is beyond the Magpies, despite residing five points behind.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew believes that the Magpies do not have the squad to reach fourth spot in the Premier League.

The North East side are just five points behind the final qualification place for the elite competition, but the former West Ham United boss is refusing to get carried away.

"Some people might be talking about the Champions League but not me," said Pardew. "The last 10 games are the most important in any season and we've won two out of two.

"We've got eight left. It's a lot of games, a lot of points. But I don't think we've got the depth of squad to challenge for that."

Newcastle will go head to head with Liverpool next weekend following the side's 3-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.
