Robinson satisfied with Dons point

MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has admitted that he is pleased to have opened the new League One season with an away draw against Shrewsbury Town.

Robinson's side were not at their best and were somewhat fortunate to draw, but the 32-year-old believes that he saw plenty to build on for his side.

"We walk away from here with a point, something to build on," Sky Sports News quotes Robinson as saying.

"We kept a clean sheet against a side who had scored 10 goals here in their last three pre-season home games so to keep them down to nothing was a tall order.

"I thought we were the best team first half and we finished better but they had a spell at the start of the second half when they really tested us. Over the course of play, it was 60-40 to us so maybe it was a fair result."

David Martin made a string of fine saves to keep the Dons in the game in the second half.
