Wolves 'make big-money bid for Soumare'

Wolverhampton Wanderers are allegedly prepared to spend in excess of €50m (£42.62m) on Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.

Since the summer transfer window, Wolves have been linked with an approach for Soumare, who is regarded as one of the top prospects in Ligue 1.

Despite not being due to turn 21 years of age until February, Soumare has already made 58 appearances for Lille, which includes six outings in this season's Champions League.

According to Foot Mercato, the youngster's continued progression has convinced Wolves to make a club-record offer for the Frenchman.

The report claims that the Premier League outfit would be prepared to loan Soumare back to Lille for the rest of the campaign.

Napoli are also said to have lodged a big-money bid for Soumare, whose contract at his present club does not expire until 2022.

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly monitoring the situation ahead of moves of their own.
