Hans-Joachim Watzke: 'Borussia Dortmund would welcome Shinji Kagawa return'

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke reveals that the "door is open" for Shinji Kagawa to return to the club.

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that midfielder Shinji Kagawa would be welcome back at the club.

Kagawa moved to Manchester United in 2012, but the Japanese international endured a mixed season at Old Trafford.

That has lead to speculation that the 24-year-old could return to Germany, and while Watzke would like Kagawa back, he has insisted that it does not look likely during this transfer window.

Watzke told Bild: "The door's always open for Shinji. A transfer is not an issue at the moment, though."

Kagawa made just 26 appearances during his debut season for the Premier League champions.
