Raphael Varane 'more likely than Sergio Ramos to leave Real Madrid this summer'

Real Madrid are reportedly more likely to lose Manchester United-linked Raphael Varane than soon-to-be free agent Sergio Ramos in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid are reportedly more likely to lose Raphael Varane than club captain and fellow defender Sergio Ramos this summer.

Ramos, who has struck 100 goals in a glittering career for Los Blancos, is set to become a free agent in the summer and talks over a new deal are yet to bear fruit.

As a result, the 34-year-old is expected to call time on his Real Madrid career this summer, but the future of Varane - who is being linked with Manchester United and Liverpool - is also up in the air.

Now, The Telegraph claims that if Varane or Ramos do indeed leave the Spanish capital this summer, it is the Frenchman that is looking more likely to seek pastures new.

The report claims that Varane will be allowed to leave for the right place as Real Madrid look to negate the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic, especially with Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said to be keen on a deal as United aim to bolster their rearguard.

Varane could reportedly be available for £61m this summer, and the World Cup-winning Frenchman will see his Blancos deal expire in the summer of 2022.
