Manchester United to offer Matteo Darmian plus £42m for Joao Cancelo?

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to offer Matteo Darmian plus £42m in a bid to land Juventus defender Joao Cancelo in this summer's transfer window.

United are widely expected to move for a new right-back at the end of the campaign with Antonio Valencia leaving on a free transfer and Ashley Young struggling to impress in recent months.

The Red Devils were linked with Cancelo in the early stages of 2019, and according to TMW, the club are now readying a £42m offer for the Portugal international, with Darmian set to be included in the bid.

Darmian continues to be linked with a return to Serie A having struggled for minutes during the 2018-19 campaign.

Cancelo - a 2018 arrival from Valencia - has made 32 appearances for the Italian champions this term, contributing one goal and eight assists.
