United 'to offer Carrick new one-year deal'

Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of offering Michael Carrick a one-year contract extension.

The veteran midfielder will be given the option of a further 12 months depending on his performances next season, according to the Daily Mail.

Carrick, whose season has been disrupted by injury problems, is currently earning £130,000 per week.

The 33-year-old's existing deal expires in June.
