United 'still want Maddison despite signing Fernandes'

Manchester United are reportedly still interested in signing Leicester City attacker James Maddison during this summer's transfer window despite recently completing a deal for Bruno Fernandes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side announced the signing of Fernandes on January 30, with the Portugal international moving to Old Trafford on a five-and-a-half-year contract.

However, despite the arrival of the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, the Red Devils are still expected to target a move for Maddison at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, according to the Evening Standard.

The England international has contributed nine goals and three assists in 29 appearances for Leicester during the current season.

Maddison has a contract at the King Power Stadium until June 2023, although United will allegedly attempt to sign him during this summer's transfer window.

The 20-time English champions will also reportedly move for Borussia Dortmund's Jadon Sancho as Solskjaer continues to rebuild the squad at Old Trafford.
