United 'rejected McTominay loan approach'

Manchester United reportedly turned down a loan offer from West Bromwich Albion for midfielder Scott McTominay in the latter stages of the January transfer window.

McTominay has struggled for football since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho as head coach, but he did come off the bench against Chelsea in the FA Cup on Monday night.

According to The Sun, West Brom made a loan move for the five-time Scotland international in January, and McTominay was prepared to drop down to the Championship for the second half of this season.

However, the report has claimed that Solskjaer told the 22-year-old that he was required at Old Trafford in the final months of the 2018-19 campaign.

McTominay, who signed a new long-term deal with United last month, has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season.
