United make opening bid for Milinkovic-Savic?

Manchester United have tabled their first bid for Lazio's in-demand midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report.

The Red Devils are thought be after two high-profile additions in the middle of the park ahead of next season, as Michael Carrick has retired and Marouane Fellaini looks likely to be on his way out.

A £53m deal to bring Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred to Old Trafford is rumoured to be close to completion, and Radio Ser suggests that Milinkovic-Savic may also be on his way if manager Jose Mourinho gets his wish.

United have offered to pay £96m for the Serbia international, who has scored 24 goals and set up a further 20 in 122 appearances for Lazio.

However, the report indicates that Milinkovic-Savic may be valued even higher by Biancocelesti chiefs due to interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
