Savage: 'Man United should move for Aguero'

Former Manchester United youngster Robbie Savage calls for the Red Devils to attempt to sign Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero.

Former Manchester United youngster Robbie Savage has urged the Red Devils to move for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero this summer.

Man City's all-time leading goalscorer will leave the Etihad Stadium on a free transfer at the end of June, and the forward is allegedly keen to remain in the Premier League.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano recently denied suggestions that Man United had already approached the Argentina international over a move to Old Trafford.

However, Savage has said that he "would love to see" the 32-year-old join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on a free transfer.

"Sergio Aguero's legacy at Manchester City is secure – the club's record scorer of all time, including the most dramatic Premier League goal in history," Savage wrote in his column for The Mirror.

"But now it is official that he is leaving the Etihad as a free agent this summer, if he stays in the Premier League I would love to see Aguero rock the boat by moving across town and signing for Manchester United. I don't honestly believe United will seize the day and make it happen – but why shouldn't it happen?"

Aguero has scored three times in 14 appearances for the Citizens this season.
