A report claims that outgoing Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero would prefer to stay in the Premier League next season, with Chelsea among the sides interested.

Sergio Aguero reportedly favours joining another Premier League club over moving abroad when he leaves Manchester City at the end of the season.

City announced earlier this week that their all-time leading goalscorer will not be offered a new contract in the summer, ending his decade-long association with the club.

A number of teams across the continent have been tipped to move for the free agent, including the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the Daily Mail claims that Aguero would prefer to continue playing in the English top flight beyond this season as he feels that he still has a lot more to give.

Chelsea are among the Premier League teams to hold an interest in the Argentina international, having also previously tried to sign him while he was at Atletico Madrid.

The same report states that Manchester United and Liverpool will not be considered by Aguero, who has netted 257 goals in 384 appearances since arriving in 2011.
