Robbie Savage: 'Darren Fletcher should leave Manchester United'

Darren Fletcher should leave Manchester United for the good of his career, according to Robbie Savage.

Robbie Savage has encouraged Darren Fletcher to depart Manchester United during this month's transfer window.

It had been reported earlier in the week that the Scotland international, who has made only four Premier League starts this season, was a target of West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis.

Having battled back from a chronic bowel condition, Savage believes that Fletcher should now be looking to make up for lost time.

"After missing so much football because of his illness, I am sure he now wants to play regularly and he is not going to be able to do that at United," Savage told BBC Sport.

"If I was him, I would leave, and I am not surprised there is plenty of interest in him."

Fletcher has made a total of 13 appearances in all competitions under Louis van Gaal's management.
