Cristiano Ronaldo's role in the Manchester United attack may allegedly come under threat should Ralf Rangnick be confirmed as the club's interim boss.

Cristiano Ronaldo may reportedly have to change his playing style in order to feature in a Manchester United team under Ralf Rangnick.

On Thursday afternoon, it was claimed that Rangnick was on the brink of becoming the new interim boss at Old Trafford, replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The German is known to adopt a pressing style which is in sharp contrast to some of the performances which were delivered under his predecessor.

According to Marca, that will cast doubt over whether Ronaldo will keep his place in the starting lineup for the remainder of the campaign.

Despite contributing 10 goals in the Premier League and Champions League this season, the 36-year-old may not be as effective if more physical demands are placed on him in attack.

The report says that Ronaldo currently features in the lower end of the Premier League statistics for pressing.
