Report: Madrid to reignite De Gea interest

A report claims that David de Gea has informed his close friends that he will join Real Madrid, with Los Blancos preparing to return for the keeper later this summer.

Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to go back in for Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea once Alvaro Morata has headed the opposite way.

The Spanish giants have cooled their interest in the 26-year-old in recent weeks, instead focusing on outgoing activity as both Morata and Cristiano Ronaldo have been strongly linked with moves away.

Madrid president Florentino Perez recently attempted to play down talk of a transfer, meanwhile, but The Express claims that it is just a matter of time before Los Blancos return.

It is suggested that De Gea has informed his close friends that he is to return to Madrid this summer, having previously impressed with rivals Atletico during his first two years as a professional.

Any contract talks with the Spain international will be delayed until Morata finalises his move to Old Trafford, however, which could still be some time away due to a disagreement over the striker's valuation.

Current Madrid number one Keylor Navas has vowed to fight for his starting spot should De Gea join, while Thibaut Courtois and Gianluigi Donnarumma are other alternatives if a deal falls through.
