Rangnick in talks with Man Utd?

Ralf Rangnick reportedly had a 'lengthy' meeting with Manchester United regarding the possibility of replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

The latter has come under severe pressure after Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Bournemouth consigned United to their fourth defeat in 11 Premier League games this season.

Reports have suggested that Rangnick, who oversaw RB Leipzig's promotion to the Bundesliga, has been identified as a key target should the club decide to dispense with Solskjaer.

According to The Athletic, the 61-year-old met for talks with a United official after the meeting was set up by Ed Woodward.

Rangnick, head of sport and development at Leipzig, specialises in overseeing player development within the framework of a long-term plan - something that United have attempted to improve on since the days of Jose Mourinho.

However, the German has also emerged as a target for Bayern Munich after the club sacked Niko Kovac over the weekend.
