Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick says that he has recommended "a couple of players" to the club's board.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that he has recommended "a couple of players" to the club's board ahead of the summer transfer window.

Rangnick will step aside for the arrival of a new manager this summer, but the German is set to remain at the club as an advisor and is expected to be involved in their transfer business.

The 63-year-old has revealed that he has already identified two players that the Red Devils could potentially target in the upcoming market to improve their squad for next season.

"There might be a couple of players - and I have already named those players to the board - that independent from formation, from style of football, and independent from a new manager, that could be of interest for a club like United," Rangnick told Sky Sports News.

RB Leipzig's Christopher Nkunku continues to be strongly linked with the 20-time English champions, while the club are also expected to move for a new central midfielder and central defender during the summer market.

Ajax's Erik ten Hag is widely expected to become the team's new head coach for next season, and the Dutchman is believed to be determined to bring Brazilian attacker Antony with him to Old Trafford.
