Phil Neville: Harry Kane would be "fantastic" signing for Manchester United

Phil Neville feels that a move for Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane would be the perfect signing for Manchester United this summer.

Phil Neville believes that Harry Kane would be a perfect signing for Manchester United this summer.

The Tottenham Hotspur forward had an impressive season for Mauricio Pochettino's men in the last campaign as he notched 31 goals in all competitions.

Neville believes that United need to bolster their frontline ahead of their return to the Champions League next season, and feels that the 21-year-old would be a brilliant acquisition for Louis van Gaal to make.

He told Sky Sports News: "He [Kane] would cost a lot of money that's for sure and I'm sure Tottenham don't want to lose him.

"But I think with losing Falcao, and being in the Champions League, United have [Robin] Van Persie, [Wayne] Rooney and [James] Wilson so they probably do need one more striker.

"The type of signing that Man Utd will make this summer will be a signing that will be a quality player from European football whether that is England or abroad. Kane fits that bill and if they can get Harry Kane here that would be a fantastic signing."

Kane is currently on international duty with the England Under-21s at the European Championships this summer.
