Manchester United 'demand £15m for Chris Smalling'

Manchester United will reportedly refuse to sell Chris Smalling to Roma this summer unless the Italian club come up with an offer of at least £15m.

The 30-year-old joined Paulo Fonseca's team on loan last summer and has impressed for the Italian outfit this season, scoring twice in 22 appearances in all competitions.

Roma sporting director Gianluca Petrachi recently revealed that his club are keen to complete a permanent move for Smalling during this summer's transfer window.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, United have made it clear that they would not be prepared to sell the centre-back for less than £15m.

Smalling, who arrived at Old Trafford from Fulham in the summer of 2010, still has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

The former non-league defender was deemed surplus to requirements at United last summer following the arrival of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
