Manchester United could offer Borussia Dortmund Dimitar Berbatov in a deal that would see Robert Lewandowski move to Old Trafford.

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up an offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, which would see Dimitar Berbatov moving the other way.

Sir Alex Ferguson is believed to be keen on landing the 23-year-old, who scored 30 goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga champions last season.

According to The Mirror, the Scot is planning to offer Berbatov as bait to land the Polish star.

The Bulgarian international recently said that he is on the lookout for a new club after being made to feel unwanted at Old Trafford.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man could be tempted by an offer to return to Germany, where he spent five years before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2006.
