Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of William Carvalho.
The 22-year-old has long been linked to the Red Devils, while he is also said to have attracted interested from Real Madrid and Juventus.
According to the Daily Mail, United are trying to negotiate a fee for the midfielder, as they are unwilling to pay his £37.5m release clause.
Carvalho has made six appearances for the Portugal national side and represented his country at this year's World Cup finals.
