Manchester United eyeing up Tim Krul move?

Tim Krul emerges as a reported target for Manchester United, who are said to be keen to add to their goalkeeping options with real uncertainty surrounding David de Gea.

Manchester United are reportedly weighing up a move to bring Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul to Old Trafford this month.

The Red Devils, who are also said to be close to completing a deal to sign former Barcelona stopper Victor Valdes, are widely considered to be in the marker for a new keeper during the transfer window as questions over David de Gea's future refuse to go away.

The Mirror claims that, while an 18-month contract is expected to be signed by Valdes in the coming days, the 20-time champions are keen to bolster their options further, with Krul seen as a strong option.

Krul featured at the World Cup for the Netherlands under now-United boss Louis van Gaal last summer, and should De Gea opt to join Spanish giants Real Madrid it is thought that a bid will be made for the Newcastle number one.

Reports have previously suggested that the Dutchman, who is currently on the sidelines nursing an injury, will be allowed to leave St James' Park for a fee of £20m.
