Man United 'would loan Haaland back to Salzburg'

Manchester United could reportedly complete a January deal for Erling Haaland before loaning the striker back to Red Bull Salzburg for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.

The 19-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable start to the season, scoring 26 times in just 18 appearances for Salzburg, including seven strikes in four Champions League outings.

United are allegedly preparing a January swoop for the centre-forward, and according to The Mirror, the Red Devils would be open to loaning the Norway international back to his current club.

A whole host of European clubs - including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus - are believed to be interested in Haaland, but the report claims that the 20-time English champions are hoping to steal a march by finalising a deal in January.

The teenager played under now United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde, while his father Alf-Inge Haaland turned out in England for Manchester City during the final stages of his career.

Haaland, who has a contract at the Red Bull Arena until June 2023, has struck 27 goals in 23 outings for Die Mozartstadter since arriving in January 2019.
