Manchester United 'could allow Axel Tuanzebe to leave on loan'

Manchester United could allow Axel Tuanzebe to leave Old Trafford on loan for the 2021-22 campaign, according to a report.

Manchester United could reportedly allow Axel Tuanzebe to leave the club on loan next season.

The 23-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Red Devils during the 2020-21 campaign, including six in the Premier League, but he is down the pecking order when it comes to the centre-back positions.

Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly are all currently ahead of the Englishman, and United are widely thought to be in the market for a new central defender during this summer's transfer window.

According to ESPN, should Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side sign a new defender in the upcoming market then Tuanzebe could be allowed to leave Old Trafford on loan.

The former England Under-21s international, who has previously spent time on loan at Aston Villa, has a contract at Old Trafford until June 2022, with the option of a further 12 months.

Tuanzebe was an unused substitute in Thursday's 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League.
