Romelu Lukaku has sent a message of gratitude to Manchester United after completing a deadline-day transfer to Inter Milan.
The Belgium international has penned a five-year contract at San Siro, just two years after joining United from Everton.
Inter have made Lukaku their most expensive signing of all time by shelling out a figure of £73m for his signature.
Taking to social media after the move was sealed, Lukaku gave a laconic thank you message to United.
"To everyone involved with Manchester United - from the board to the manager and his staff, the players, and the fans. Thank you and good luck for the future," he wrote on Instagram.
The 25-year-old enjoyed a blistering start to life at Old Trafford, netting 11 goals in his first 10 league games, but only managed 17 from his next 56 appearances.
Lukaku's decision to leave for Italy was predicated on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's clear preference for Marcus Rashford as first choice at number nine during the second half of the 2018-19 campaign.
