Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku heads for Inter Milan after the two clubs agree a £70m deal, according to a report.

Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku has reportedly agreed a five-year contract with Inter Milan as the Belgium international closes in on a switch to the Italian giants.

Lukaku's future has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks, and Juventus had been strongly linked with a move amid suggestions of a swap deal involving Paulo Dybala.

The Red Devils ultimately pulled out of a swoop for Dybala, though, leaving Inter as the clear favourites to sign the 26-year-old during this summer's transfer window.

According to The Guardian, United have now accepted an offer from Inter of £70m including add-ons for the former Anderlecht youngster, who will earn around £300,000 a week at San Siro.

The report claims that while the 20-time English champions were keen to stick to their original £80m valuation, a compromise was eventually reached due to Lukaku's desire to depart.

Juve forward Mario Mandzukic and former Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente have both been linked with moves to United as a replacement for Lukaku.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will open their 2019-20 Premier League campaign with a home game against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon, where summer arrivals Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire could all make their debuts.
