Juventus offer Manchester United's Paul Pogba a £160,000-a-week contract to return to the club on a free transfer, according to a report.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly been offered a £160,000-a-week contract to return to Juventus on a free transfer this summer.

The 29-year-old's current deal in Manchester is due to expire at the end of June, and he is widely expected to leave the 20-time English champions in search of pastures new.

Paris Saint-Germain continue to be heavily linked with the France international, while a recent report claimed that Real Madrid had not ruled out bringing him to Bernabeu this summer.

However, according to The Mirror, Juventus are in pole position for the World Cup winner, offering him a contract worth £160,000 a week to return to the club.

The report claims that the proposed agreement will also include a large bonus package and signing-on fees, with the Italian giants determined to bring him back to Turin.

Juventus are allegedly keen to 'build their team around' Pogba, viewing him as one of the leading midfielders in world football despite his struggles for Man United.

The Frenchman previously represented the Old Lady between 2012 and 2016, having arrived on a free transfer from the Red Devils, and he won four Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia crowns during a successful spell.

Pogba turned out on 178 occasions for Juventus in his previous spell before completing a big-money return to Man United in the summer of 2016.

The midfielder has made 233 appearances for the Red Devils during two separate spells, but he has largely struggled to make his mark since returning to Old Trafford six years ago.

This term, Pogba has made 27 appearances for Man United, contributing one goal and nine assists, but he has struggled with injury problems, missing a chunk of football earlier this term due to a hamstring issue.

The Frenchman has missed his side's last four Premier League matches, meanwhile, with the calf problem that he picked up against Liverpool in the middle of April.

Pogba is unlikely to be available for selection against Crystal Palace next weekend, so his last appearance for the Red Devils could prove to be the 4-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Juventus, who lost to Inter Milan in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night, will make room in their wage budget by allowing both Paulo Dybala and Giorgio Chiellini to leave on free transfers this summer.

Massimiliano Allegri's side are currently fourth in Serie A, seven points ahead of fifth-placed Lazio, ahead of their final two league matches of the campaign against Lazio and Fiorentina.
