Blackpool manager Paul Ince says that Wayne Rooney needs to "force" an exit from Manchester United, if he wants to leave the club.

Blackpool manager Paul Ince has insisted that Wayne Rooney will have to "force" his way out of Manchester United, if he wants to leave Old Trafford.

The 27-year-old is believed to be eager to seek pastures new, which has prompted two failed bids from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

"If Wayne wants to go, then it is up to him to force that issue," BBC Sport quotes Ince as saying.

"But Wayne has not said he wants to go or wants to stay. It would be nice to know what Wayne Rooney wants."

Reports have claimed that Rooney is open to handing in a transfer request at United, who are standing firm that the striker is not for sale.
