Manchester United are reportedly targeting Everton left-back Leighton Baines and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric after securing the signature of Shinji Kagawa from Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly hoping to make further additions to his squad after securing the signature of Shinji Kagawa.

The 23-year-old Japanese midfielder was confirmed as the Red Devils' first summer signing earlier today for a fee in the region of £14m from Borussia Dortmund.

Ferguson believes that his squad needs to be significantly strengthened if they are to challenge Manchester City next season and the Scot is targeting Everton left-back Leighton Baines and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that United are willing to part with £30m to seal Modric's switch to Old Trafford.
