One of Liverpool's fellow Premier League outfits are reportedly planning to step up their interest in out-of-favour attacker Harvey Elliott.

One of Liverpool's fellow Premier League outfits will reportedly soon 'up the ante' in their pursuit of out-of-favour attacker Harvey Elliott.

The 22-year-old has seldom been used from the first whistle by Arne Slot this season, starting just one Premier League game in the 3-1 loss to Chelsea a couple of gameweeks ago.

The first half of Elliott's season was hampered by a serious foot injury, since when he has struggled to displace undisputed starters Mohamed Salah and Dominik Szoboszlai in the final third.

With Salah committing himself to a new deal until 2027 - the same year that Elliott's current terms expire - the England Under-21 international has inevitably been linked with an exit in search of regular game time.

Slot has confirmed that he wants Elliott to stay at the club, but the 2003-born protege could be tempted by the promise of frequent starts elsewhere, and he is said to have plenty of Premier League admirers.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Borussia Dortmund were tipped to battle for Elliott in January, while Nottingham Forest are said to be considering him as a potential replacement for Manchester City-linked Morgan Gibbs-White.

However, Wolverhampton Wanderers have supposedly shown interest in a deal for the playmaker too, and GIVEMESPORT claims that the Old Gold will soon step up their efforts to win the transfer battle.

Vitor Pereira's side supposedly want to learn whether Elliott would be open to the idea of joining the club for the 2025-26 season, and Wolves' interest is believed to be the 'most concrete' at this stage.

Conversations are ongoing between Elliott's camp and the Wolves transfer team, although Liverpool would supposedly want as much as £50m to let him depart in the summer window.

While the Reds are not eager to force Elliott out of the door, they will not stand in his way if a suitable offer is lodged, especially as they are also exploring a move for Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz.

Elliott has come up with 14 goals and 19 assists in 145 matches for Liverpool since joining from Fulham in the summer of 2019, winning eight major trophies including a pair of Premier League titles.

Liverpool's £50m asking price for Elliott might have initially proven problematic for Wolves, but the Old Gold are likely to bank a healthy amount through Matheus Cunha's prospective sale.

Man United are pressing ahead with a move for the Brazil international, who could apparently cost the Red Devils around £62.5m due to a release clause in his deal, thereby providing Wolves with a healthy transfer kitty to sign a replacement.

By allowing Elliott to explore a move to Wolves, Liverpool would therefore be aiding their rivals' efforts to sign the highly-rated Cunha, although Ruben Amorim's side have been anything but a direct threat to the Reds this season.

A whopping 15 places and 44 points separate the two clubs in the Premier League table, although they could both be playing in the Champions League next season if Man United overcome Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final on Wednesday.
