Borussia Dortmund are reportedly ready to rival Manchester United for Juventus forward Mario Mandzukic.
Since the end of the summer window, United have been heavily linked with the Croatia international, who has been frozen out at Juventus since the arrival of Maurizio Sarri.
A number of reports have suggested that United are on the brink of sealing a deal for the 33-year-old at the beginning of 2020.
However, according to Kicker, Dortmund are planning to hand Mandzukic an opportunity to return to the Bundesliga.
Between 2010 and 2014, Mandzukic contributed 53 goals from 110 league appearances for Wolfsburg and Bayern Munich respectively.
The veteran is also likely to have offers from the MLS.
